ExactUnits Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
ExactUnits converts units of measurement on the web pages you visit. All conversion happens locally in your browser. We never collect, store or transmit the addresses of the pages you visit or any text from them.
Anonymous usage statistics
Once a day the extension may send a small anonymous summary to our server (api.smallkit.app):
- a random installation ID generated by the extension (not linked to your name, email, Google account or device);
- how many conversions were shown that day, on how many pages and in which categories (length, weight, temperature…), and how often the popup converter was used;
- whether the review or Pro cards were shown or clicked;
- the extension version, your chosen unit system, and whether Pro is active;
- your country, derived by our server from the connection (your IP address is not stored).
We use this only to improve ExactUnits and to choose the free daily limit after beta. We don't sell or share it and don't use it for advertising. Turn it off anytime: Options → “Anonymous usage statistics” → “Don't share”.
Feedback and uninstall survey
If you send feedback or answer “Why did you remove ExactUnits?”, we store your answer with the anonymous installation ID, version and country. The email field is optional and is used only to reply to you.
Payments (Pro)
Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, under Paddle's privacy policy. Paddle collects the details needed for payment and the receipt (such as email and country); we never see your card details. To turn Pro on without an account, we store your order number, plan, status and renewal date together with the anonymous installation ID.
Settings and Chrome sync
Your preferences are stored in your browser. If Chrome sync is on, Google syncs your unit settings and your Pro order number between your own browsers. We don't receive this data.
Permissions
- Access to websites — units can appear on any page; the text is processed locally and never leaves your browser.
- storage — saves your preferences.
- alarms — schedules the once-a-day statistics summary and settings refresh.
Data retention and deletion
Usage summaries are kept for up to 24 months. To delete data linked to your installation ID or order, email us with your order number. Uninstalling the extension deletes the installation ID from your browser.
